What does the Word of God say about sex and sexual immorality?

You Must Believe What The Word of God Says About Sex
It is not the will of God for you to fall into any of the sex traps. Please write that down! The Lord does not want you devastated by a sexually transmitted disease, broken hearted or bitter over a busted relationship, or suffering from paternity fraud or a victim of date rape. The primary line of defense the Lord has given you to protect yourself from avoiding sex traps is: you must believe what the Written Word of God says about sex. To believe means to have firm faith in. What does the Word of God say about sex and sexual immorality? Read it carefully…

I Thessalonians 4:1-9 NIV
1 Finally, brothers, we instructed you how to live in order to please God, as in fact you are living. Now we ask you and urge you in the Lord Jesus to do this more and more.
2 For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
3 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality;
4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable,
5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;
6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you.
7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life.
8 Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit.

We are commanded to avoid sexual immorality and you must have firm faith in that command. In verse 8, God makes it clear. The men and women who reject this command are not rejecting man, nor or they rejecting laws established by men, they are rejecting Almighty God! In verse 5, God calls the individuals who reject His Word, heathens or pagans. No wonder the consequences of disobeying God’s commands are so devastating. If you do not firmly believe what God said about sex, you have by default, thrust yourself into the sexual danger zone. He further commands us…

1 Corinthians 6:18 AMP
Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

II Timothy 2:22
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

The statistics will verify that the majority of the men and women who disregard or reject these commands, find themselves drinking from the bitter cup of regret. You cannot ignore or disobey the commands of God and righteously expect your love life to be a picture of romantic tranquility or marital bliss. After you have firmly believed what God has said about sex, you must take the final step, which is…

You Must Carry Out The Word of God In Your Life
To carry out means to: 1. To put into practice or effect. 2. To follow or obey: carry out instructions. James, prompted by the Holy Spirit, put it like this:

James 1:22-23
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

To avoid the sex traps and stay out of the sexual danger zone, you must be a doer of the Word of God. In other words you must shun sexual immorality and you must flee fornication. Paul, prompted by the Holy Spirit, put it like this…

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

It is your responsibility and your spiritual and moral obligation to bring your body into subjection. God has given each of us an irrevocable mandate to make our flesh submit to the will of God, (See Romans 6:12, Romans 8:13 and I Corinthians 6:20). If you fail or refuse to bring your body into subjection, I promise, your flesh will run buck wild! You will look back and see a trail of emotional trauma and heartache. However, if you take these three steps: (a) Avoid sexually misguided men and women. (b) Believe what the Word Of God says about sex, and (c) Carry out the Word of God in your life, you will never be snared into the sexual danger zone. When you take all three of these simple steps, it will be said of you…

Romans 6:14
For sin shall not have dominion over you…
